The TYLOS ankle arthrodesis nail, from the Be POD range, has:

• a unique posterior locking system, thanks to the insertion of a transcalcaneal screw of the threaded key type, guaranteeing considerable stability and thus reducing the risks of system disassembling or retrograde screw,
• a lateral locking system assisted by cortical screws.
  

Indications

The TYLOS ankle arthrodesis nail is used for :

• combined talocrural and subtalar arthrodeses,
  
• as well as for certain types of distal pseudoarthroses of the tibia when the ankle joint cannot be preserved.
  

The concept

The TYLOS ankle arthrodesis nail, from the Be POD range, was designed to satisfy 3 principles:

1. Stability : Multi-axial stabilisation.
2. Simplicity : A simple yet precise drill guide, making peri-operative control possible with an image intensifier.
3. Security : An original posterior locking system: a single transcalcaneal anterior-posterior screw of the “key” type.
