The BEHAC humeral nail is a supple nailing system.
BEHAC was designed to make easier greater access to the lockable nailing technique when treating fractures of the humerus :
- Thanks to its finesse and its flexibility, it can be implanted easily in the humeral shaft, which is often narrow;
- Thanks to the quality of the its proximal, distal and diaphyseal supports, it provides the fracture with good stability.
It allows surgeons to perform dynamic and perfectly stable nailing, which is opposed efficiently to telescoping and rotation – both problems encountered commonly when implanting supple nails.
Indications
Diaphyseal fractures :
- Transversal fractures;
- Oblique fractures;
- Spiroid fractures;
- Bifocal or comminutive fractures.
> Large loop BEHAC nail
Metaphyseal fractures :
- Fracture of the surgical neck;
- Fractures with 2 or 3 simple fragments.
> Small loop BEHAC nail
The concept
This is a dynamic osteosynthesis system.
It makes possible the transmission of the compression forces that are the result of muscle activity.
