The universality of the Hip’n go concept gives surgeons the possibility to choose either pre-operation or per-operation between :
- a standard stem (CD angle 130°) and a lateralised stem (CD angle 122°),
- to be used either with or without cement.
For the acetabular cup, the choice can be made between :
- a range of rigid cementless acetabular cups, either with an UHMWPE insert or a BIOLOX DELTA solid ceramic insert,
- and a range of cementless dual mobility acetabular cups (standard press-fit or tripod).
The specific
Hip’n go instruments are common to the different types of stem proposed in this programme.
This instrument set is adapted to all the standard approaches, including mini-invasive approaches.
Rasp holders or cup holders are available for posterior and anterior approaches.
Indications
The
Hip’n go programme was developed to satisfy a maximum number of indications for first intention total hip arthroplasties, simple revision, fractures of the femoral neck or in cases of dislocated prostheses:
- Polyarthritis ;
- Dysplasia ;
- Coxarthrosis ;
- Revision of dislocated prostheses ;
- Aseptic osteonecrosis ;
- Fracture of the femoral neck.
The concept
The
universality of the Hip’n go concept gives surgeons the possibility in the pre-operative or per-operative period to choose between a double mobility acetabular cup (press-fit or tripod) and a rigid acetabular cup (Biolox Delta solid ceramic or UHMWPE insert), with a range of stems that require cement or not, available in a standard 130° version or a lateralised 122° version.
Products characteristics
STEM
The
Hip’n go range of straight cementless femoral stems exists in 10 sizes, and either
130°, or
122°. The
Hip’n go range of straight cemented femoral stems exists in 10 sizes available in
130°.The tulip-shape of the metaphysis, plus the anteroposterior and lateral macrostructures are designed to improve the primary fixation. A T40 titanium and HAP protuberance encourage the secondary fixation and a long lifespan.
ACETABULAR CUP
The
metal-backs of the Hip’n go acetabular cups have a common external geometry that corresponds to a semicircular cup with an equatorial flare brought by the crenelated macrostructure, which provides it with excellent press-fit and perfect primary fixation.
Three wings increase the press-fit and prevent any possible rotation movement of the cup in the receiving bone.
DUAL MOBILITY acetabular cup :
The cementless dual mobility acetabular cup ranges (either press-fit or tripod) exist in 10 sizes, ranging in diameter from 46 mm to 64 mm in 2 mm increments. The inserts are available with an internal diameter of 22.2 mm for the 46 mm size and 28 mm for sizes 48 to 64 mm.
- The metal-backs are made from CoCr (Cobalt Chrome), mirror polished on the inside face to provide mobilisation of the insert with maximum tribological properties.
- The outer surface has a T40 titanium protuberance and an hydroxyapatite coating to encourage the secondary fixation of the implant, and its long lifespan.
- The inserts are made of polyethylene (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene, UHMWPE).
FIXED acetabular cup :
The Hip’n go range of cementless rigid acetabular cups comes in 10 sizes, ranging from a diameter of 46 mm to 64 mm, in 2 mmincrements. There is also an optional range going up to size 74.
- The metal-backs are made from a TA6V4 titanium alloy. The outer surface has a T40 titanium protuberance and a hydroxyapatite coating that encourage the secondary fixation of the implant in the long term.
- Polyethylene (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene, UHMWPE) available in diameter 28 mm.
- Biolox Delta ceramic, for its recognised tribological properties, and for its increased resistance to fracture.
