LigamentoplastieCoLS Classic system (Tape locking Screw)

For a new concept of ACL and PCL knee ligament surgery

>> CoLS Classic is called TLS in Europe

CoLS Classic
is an innovative system for reconstructing the cruciate ligaments of the knee, making it possible to limit the number of tendons harvested (1 instead of the usual 2).
Thanks to the highly resistant graft, the patient’s recovery period can be shortened.

Indications

The CoLS Classic system is designed for :
  • Partial or total rupture of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL)
  • and the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL).

The concept

The CoLS Classic concept was the fruit of the desire to improve the quality of reconstructions of the central pivot of the knee by better preserving patients’ tendinous capital.

The CoLS Classic concept is based on several key characteristics:
  • harvesting of a single tendon,
  • a short graft with 4 prestressed strands,
  • mechanical properties for the primary fixation similar a normal ACL,
  • non traumatic fixation of the graft,
  • optimal secondary fixation : maximum tendon/bone contact (360°) press-fit,
  • post-operative period : no splints, immediate full weight-bearing, free mobility.

Product characteristics

The CoLS Classic fixation system is composed of two elements:
  • an anodised titanium screw, with a single diameter of 10 mm, available in two lengths: 20 mm and 25 mm,
  • a woven band made of polyethylene terephthalate.
A specific set of instruments makes it possible to prestress the graft at 500N, thanks to a specially-adapted workstation and retrograde reamers that allow the surgeon to form the tibial and femoral recesses.
