This is the most commonly used nail in France, and the first nail to propose self-stability locking.
A precise and simple instrument set that makes it possible to obtain a reproducible technique.
The TELEGRAPH nail remains the least voluminous material proposed for anterograde nailing of the humerus.
There are two versions :
Diaphyseal fracture
The diaphysis is separated into 2 parts > Long TELEGRAPH nail
Extra-articular fracture with 2 or 3 fragments
This situation is typical of 60% of cases.
Recommended technique: percutaneous > Short TELEGRAPH nail
Articular fracture
>> Valgus impacted articular fractures :
Standard indication
Recommended technique: Standard > Short TELEGRAPH nail
>> Articular fractures with 3 or 4 fragments, disimpacted or even dislocated :
Recommended technique: Discussion on whether to implant a nail or a prosthesis
anatomical or reverse > Short TELEGRAPH nail or Shoulder prosthesis
TELEGRAPH is one of the solutions proposed for the pathologies of proximal or diaphyseal fractures of the humerus.
Its straight shape helps ensure there are no lesions at the level of the rotator cuff.
The choice can be made between a short or long nail, with different diameters and different lengths.
The position of the screws is identical.
Very commonly used in cases of 2 or 3 fragment extra-articular fractures (60% of cases), this nail allows surgeons to use several different techniques :
Its first diameter (7 mm) makes it one of the smallest long nails on the market.
It has assisted distal locking.
It can be fixed or dynamic. The dynamic locking is highly recommended.
TELEGRAPH is made from stainless steel, which makes it possible to obtain small diameters (7, 8, 9 mm).
3 instrument sets are available:
With the mixed instrument set, it is possible to implant both types of nail.
